ProjectLink to design and build new Burger Factory
The Burger Manufacturing Company appoint ProjectLink to design and project manage the next stage of their development.
Formed in 2000 with a purpose built factory in the heart of the Welsh countryside, The Burger Manufacturing Company has set out from day one to change the reputation and image of the humble burger. “We believe that not all fast food is bad for you because our range uses only the finest cuts of UK and Irish Farm Assured beef. As well as a strong representation in the fast food market, we also excel in the restaurant and hotel market with our Gourmet range, which includes the world famous Kobe and Aberdeen Angus”.
The BMC burger range comprises of three distinct product groups, Gourmet, Select and Fast Food, which have been carefully developed by their specialist teams to suit the different market segments. The product range is made from UK and Irish sourced meat, all choice muscle meat cuts are used in conjunction with production techniques and recipes perfected over 40 years. The range of burgers are distributed through a network of national frozen food wholesalers. Since formation they have grown with their customers and, wherever possible and have supported the local farming community. Along the way BMC have picked up awards including the True Taste of Wales Silver Award and customers and friends alike have proclaimed that their burgers are the best they have ever tasted. ProjectLink have worked with BMC for over fifteen years and have project managed most of their developments throughout their history, so we were thrilled to continue this successful partnership with our appointment to design and project manage their latest (and most significant) development to date.
The building will consist of a 2,500 square metre extension constructed as a steel portal framed building with a composite panel and blockwork envelope, housing a state of the art, temperature controlled, hygienic food production and storage facility. ProjectLink will organise and oversee the entire project and will ensure all aspects of the build, including CDM Regulations, general health and safety, Building Regulations, etc are in full compliance.
The elements of the project include groundworks, drainage, structural steelwork, roof and wall cladding, coldstore panelling, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, flooring, loading bays and external works. We look forward to a start in Summer 2016, when the sun will be shining and the rain will just be a distant memory..!
